Let's meet! SAP Basis team

Q: Sebastian, you are leading the SAP Basis team with 4 members in Riga and 11 in Hamburg. Tell us, what does your team do and what is cool about it?
A: Well, SAP Basis is the technical layer, which keeps SAP applications running. Our team is responsible for keeping the SAP systems up-to-date, stable, secure, and well-performing.
We administrate around 550 SAP Systems on various architectures and complexity. In my opinion, very cool is the fact, that we are always involved in the newest technologies SAP and its partners have to offer.

Q: What first comes to your mind when you think of your team/team members in Riga?
A: Helpful! Always ready to help! Riga colleagues are young, fast learning, and ambitious.

Q: How do you ensure that German and Latvian colleagues work as one team?
A: We have a lot of overlapping projects, where colleagues from both locations work together and share their experiences. Organizationally, we have meetings quite frequently.

Q: How do you envision your future work with the Riga team? (here could be anything, short-term, long-term plans, new areas?
A: We are a very fast-growing department, with many new customers and new challenges. With time Riga team could take over Project-based work and focus on upgrades and migrations, but for that, we need to grow there a bit :)
